Student Discounts

student discounts

When I was in college, I took advantage of all of the student discounts that I could find. I went to college in Pittsburgh, and I had access to the entire city. Unlike some other colleges, mine was right in the middle of town, and that meant there were specials meant to drawn in the college student almost everywhere I went. These were always a blessing, as like most students, I really had to watch my budget. There were many time when I got a discount, and other times, things were free.

The best student discounts were the ones that got me something for free. Though there weren’t many, there were a few that I loved. One was the Carnegie Museum in the Oakland section of the city. If you had a college ID from any school, you could go in absolutely free. I always loved going in there, and I could never see the entire museum in one trip. I didn’t have a lot of time to go, so I barely made it through the entire place before I graduated. However, it was one of my favorite student discounts.

Some of the other student discounts that I liked came from some nearby restaurants. There was a pizza place that had a special just for our school and the students. You could get a large pizza for just five dollars, and that came with two liters of Coke. If you wanted to add a topping on this student discount deal meal, you only had a pay a dollar a topping. These pizzas were really great, and they were huge. It was perfect for the broke college student who was tired of eating macaroni and cheese all of the time.

There were other restaurants that offered student discounts, and there were also some book stores and entertainment venues that offered these as well. Though we never had a lot of extra money, we always had a lot of extra things we could do thanks to the student discounts. This gave us cheap and exciting things to do when we needed a break from study and watching television. Even the zoo and the local aviary had a discount that we could use by showing our student ID. Almost every town that hosts a college will have companies with these offers. A college student would be silly not to take advantage of the offers when appropriate.
