When you were in high school, did you know what you wanted to do? Did you know for sure if it could be done with or without a college degree? For many of us who may not have known what we wanted to do, college was a good starting point.
Without a college degree, many people become stuck in a certain job, or with a certain company, with very few opportunities for advancement. A college degree will not guarantee a high salary right away, but people with college degrees typically are more competitive for higher paying jobs.
But college is not all about earning more money. College offers an opportunity to discover your talents, interests, and passions in a learning environment. Learning to work in teams is another advantage of many college courses.
Hiring managers want employees that they can trust, and a college education goes a long way in establishing trust-worthiness in an employer’s eyes. Even if you must go to school part-time over a span of several years, the commitment demonstrated in graduating shows a great deal of perseverance.
