Obviously the video has its own pace and speed and there is a risk of it playing too fast such that your child doesn’t hear or see some of the content.

The teacher may be playing the video with their hand on the pause button in case your child has trouble keeping up, but this can hardly be expected. When the inevitable happens and material is missed how is your child going to catch up on that lost content?
